What is Couch-to-5k?

but basically, it is a training schedule designed for beginning runners that eases you into running for 30 minutes at a time over 9 weeks using timed run/walk sessions. The first week you only run for 60 seconds at a time! One minute? You can do that! This is a popular program, and there are lots of podcasts available to do the work for you, or you can just use your watch.
we'll do one workout per week together as a group, to get you to week 6--where you will have a goal of running for 25 minutes without a break. We will also dedicate time during the first session to forming partnerships or groups that can train together and support each other.
After the sixth session, we can decide whether we want to continue meeting as a group for the final three weeks, and maybe find a fall 5k to enter together! For the first week or two, I will provide music mixes for our workouts, with other participants being encouraged to create for the group after that--I'll provide a small speaker that will work with any mp3 player.
