In this class, Spanish- speakers will learn English and English-speakers will learn Spanish. After learning new concepts, you can try them out with native speakers of the other language in your class. Whether you need to know English / Spanish for work, to improve pronunciation or spelling, for travel, to make new friends, or anything, you'll have a friendly atmosphere to practice learn that will accomodate your interests, goals, ability level. Even if you've tried before and found it difficult, this class will work for you. We will use different materials developed through experience teaching English independently in Mexico and Colombia, as well as teaching high school Spanish here in the U.S. Explore topics of real life, work with a variety of resources, and begin creating a language portfolio if you want. Learners will develop personalized vocabulary, enhanced phonetic awareness, and a wide range of second language acquisition skills. You are welcome to bring your questions, books, or any materials that you would like to understand better. Time will be provided for individualized attention as well.

Requirements: Recommended basic materials will be listed on the first day of class.

Participants will be asked to attend consistently--with a common sense notification policy -- to ensure that teamwork is functioning well and planning is effective for everyone.  No-shows (without notice 2 hours prior to class) are problematic for participants counting on their group or pairwork person to attend, and for planning the most relevant topics for everyone. Communication is the key.
