Basic Computer, Word, Power Point and EXCEL

Beginning Computers

Mon/Wed Jan. 21, 26, 28 and Feb. 2: 10:30am-12:00pm OR
Sat. Feb. 7, 14, 21, 28: 3:30-5:00pm OR
Tues/Thurs. Feb. 24, 26 and Mar. 3, 5: 7:00-8:30pm

If you have never used a computer before, or your skills are a little rusty, this is the class for you. We will practice using the mouse, practice typing using Mavis Beacon, learn how to open and close programs, get e-mail accounts, and use the Internet. We will also learn some computer vocabulary. Bring lots of questions!

Microsoft Word I
Mon. Jan. 5, 12, 26 and Feb. 2: 4:00-5:30pm (Teacher: Tom) OR
Mon/Wed. Feb. 4, 9, 11, 18: 10:30am-12:00pm (Teacher: Alison)

We will learn the basics of Microsoft Word. We will create, save, and print documents, learn to format documents and change font styles, and use spell check. To join this class, you will need the skills we learned in Computer for Beginners, or be able to type with both hands, and go to a website on the Internet.

Microsoft Word II
Mon. Feb. 9, 16, 23 and Mar. 2: 4:00-5:30pm (Teacher: Tom) OR
Mon/Wed Feb. 23, 25 and Mar. 2, 4: 10:30am-12:00pm (Teacher:Alison)

In this class, we will refine what you learned in Microsoft Word I and cover more features including tables, clip art, and the Help function. We will work on a few independent projects. To join this class, you will need the skills we learned in Word I or have basic Word knowledge.

Microsoft PowerPoint
Tues/Thurs. Feb. 10 and 12: 4:00-5:30pm (Teacher: Tom)
This class will introduce you to PowerPoint and you will create a simple presentation. We suggest taking this class after Microsoft Word.

Microsoft Excel I

Sun. Jan. 4, 11, 18, and 25: 2:00-3:30pm OR
Tues/Thurs. Jan. 22, 27, and Feb. 3, 5: 7:00-8:30pm

This class will teach you how to make spreadsheets and tables using Microsoft Excel. *To join this class, you will need the skills we learned in Computer for Beginners, or be able to use a mouse and type with both hands.

Microsoft Excel II

Sun. Feb. 1, 8, 15, and 22: 2:00-3:30pm OR
Tues/Thurs. Feb. 10, 12, 17, and 19: 7:00-8:30pm

This class will expand on what we learned in Excel I. We will learn more about formulas, graphics and formatting documents. *To join this class, you will need the skills learned in Excel I, or at least have basic Excel skills.
