November EXCO Night: The Giving Tree
Thursday, November 20th from 6-8PM – Smail Gallery, Olin Rice Hall, Macalester College
This month EXCO will be hosting our first ever skill auction! Here’s how it works:
1. You bring any “skill” or gift you have to share. “Skill” is very open-ended and could range from a late night sketch, to a home-cooked meal, to an old sweater just lying around. The possibilities are only limited by your imagination and what you think someone else would want to bid on.
2. Now the fun begins! At 7pm we’ll start auctioning off each “skill” one by one with fake EXCO currency that you’ll receive on your way in. Pick and choose what items you want and when to bid as our in house Auctioneer, Dan Reddan, runs the auction.
If you just can’t dig up a “skill” to share (we think you can) then you can still come to The Giving Tree by buying into the auction. We ask for a $5 suggested donation to buy in (that will help to support future EXCO nights), but we absolutely won’t turn anyone away for lack of funds (or skills). But with that said, BE CREATIVE! We’re sure you can come up with something to share!

Macalester College is located at 1600 Grand Ave. in St. Paul. It is accessible by the 63, 84, and 70 bus lines, and within a mile of the 16, 21, 74, and 94 lines. Smail Gallery is the main atrium on the 2nd floor of Olin-Rice Hall, accessible through the front and rear (parking lot) entrance.
