Course description:

Exploration. Adventure. Does your life include these elements? Have you longed to travel abroad independently, sans tour groups & guides, but aren't sure how or where to start? Then this class is for you! Five Mondays in March will give you the foundation for planning your voyage. From practical suggestions (like which travel guides to invest in and what to pack) to theoretical discussion (eg, which regions to pick based on what you’re looking for, cultural tips). You will walk away with the confidence and know-how to "choose your own adventure" and fulfill your travel dreams.

What experience do you bring to this class?

Over the past ten years I have backpacked through two dozen countries on four continents. I have hiked the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu and scaled one of the tallest dunes in the world in Namibia. I have drifted down cobblestone alleys in Warsaw and thumbed my way across islands in the West Indies. All of my experiences have been the result of my own studies and research. Needless to say, I have learned much about what to do and what to avoid when traveling. I am currently working on my first book, a compilation of travel photography and prose.
