Course description:
Java is a programming language which is increasingly used within business applications due to its power, flexibility and its independence of underlying operating systems.

Have you ever heard the expression: “The computer only does what you tell it to do”? Now, you can tell the computer what to do in a whole new way!

This course is an introduction to Java. Within 8 lessons you will learn about:

- the historical background of Java
- text encoding, data types, and statements
- objects in Java
- input / output facilities
- Java applets
...

Furthermore you will create your own first applications!

No programming experience necessary. Computers will be available within the classroom, however, you may find your own laptop helpful.
