Course description: This course will include viewing and discussion of several films that are central to the (anti) genre of queer cinema, with a general introduction to the politics of queers in film, queering the film genre, and film as queer activism. Come with any level of experience and knowledge, as long as you're willing to discuss and contribute ideas. Queers and non-queers welcome. There will be a few short assignments to be completed outside of class time.

What experience do you bring to this class?

I am a queer feminist with a B.A. in Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies from the U of M and a penchant for queer film, the campier the better! I have several years of experience working and volunteering in queer and radical bookstores during which time I’ve learned a lot about queer film that I would love to view, share and discuss with you and critique through a radical queer lens.
