Sex-and-Gender Minorities explained by the Sex-Script Hypothesis?

parkx032's picture

This class (and the textbook) were not created
specifically for GLBT people,
but persons of every sex-and-gender minority
are welcome to join our discussions.
This includes all gay, lesbian,
bisexual, and transsexual persons.
Persons who find themselves with
bondage and discipline sexual fantasies,
no matter what their sexual orientations,
are also welcome.
Persons who are uncertain about
which sex to call themselves,
and persons who have any other
variations of sex and/or gender
are welcome to consider
whether the sex-script hypothesis
might help them to understand themselves better.

No matter what your sexual orientation
or sexual identity,
if you find yourself with imprinted sexual fantasies
that you did not choose
and which sometimes puzzle you,
the thesis of this book might
cast some light on what you are experiencing.
For example, would you call yourself a "sex addict"?
Do you have unusual sexual dreams?
You are invited to read those parts of the book
that you find most relevant and interesting.
Over 50 pages from Imprinted Sexual Fantasies
are available free of charge on the Internet:
http://www.tc.umn.edu/~parkx032/SS.html.

This seminar might be adapted specifically
for some special sexual minority.
Have a look at the text to see
if this new theory might be useful to your group.

And for people who have the most common sexual fantasies:
This seminar is also for you.
When we study the origins and dynamics of unusual sexual imprinting,
we also illuminate all varieties of imprinted sexual fantasies.

Let us be open to whatever sexual inclinations
and experiences the participants bring to this class.

One of the competing theories

One of the competing theories within sexology
which is compatible with the UU openness
to all sex-and-gender minorities
is called the "sex-script hypothesis".

Briefly, this explanation suggests that most sexual responses
can be understood as the result of 'sexual imprinting'.
This 'sexual imprinting' takes place early in each life
definitely before age 20 in most cases.

Many contemporary

Many contemporary philosophers think that the whole idea that Nothing is a thing that can be pondered is itself a grammatical mistake. Just because I can use the word “Nothing” as a grammatical subject in a sentence in the same way I use other nouns, doesn’t mean that the word designates a thing. The words “all” and “nothing” are typically not thought ccip training to be nouns, but logical operators that say something about things that have certain properties. “All dogs are mammals” means that if a thing is a dog, then it is a mammal too. “Nothing is a round square” means that if a thing is round it is not also square. So Nothing, on this view, is only a way of denying certain properties to the things that exist. It is not a thing in itself, nor, security+ certification certainly, is it a way of talking about the absence of all things. When we try to talk about Nothing itself, there is really nothing to talk about.ut this seems too easy a way to dispose of the problem. Even if you get rid of everything, Nothing is there. You never really know what you have until it’s gone. Surely if appreciating the contingency of a thing involves seeing it against the background of its negation or absence, then appreciating the contingency of everything, the world as a whole, means cisco ccsp seeing it against the background of Nothing. Even if the logical operators “all” and “nothing” are limited to talking about things with certain properties, we can conceive of things that might transcend all our properties. Plotinus thought that the One was beyond Being;
