Winter, the best time to buy a home in Winter Land

Many people get the urge to buy a home in spring, and that has many advantages, however, it is my opinion that the best time to shop for a new home is when snow is on the roof. The reasons for this are unique to snowy climates because water (ICE) is one of the most effective agents of change. Some will argue that post rainy season is the best because of the potential to the foundation, but I argue to never even ponder a home that is too new & has not yet seen the effects of flooding, or a home that has obvious basement improvements in the last 3 years. The exceptions are many yes, but one should at least base their decisions on the best ASSUMPTIONS.

Shopping seasons

Winter, advantages to :
sellers are desperate,
Prices are lower,
ICE DAMS are visible
Do you really want to shovel a corner lot with a parking pad for 3 cars?
(some say lazy, I say enjoy your life)

Post Rainy season :
More homes For sale (people wait to put homes on sale till spring)
May find flooding problems in the act before they are covered up,
You can see the yard!
