PHP Class

"PHP is a scripting language originally designed for producing dynamic web pages. It has evolved to include a command line interface capability and can be used in standalone graphical applications." [Wikipedia]

It's also the basis for many popular open-source Web 2.0 platforms, including Drupal.... I've heard it's not a terribly difficult language to learn, so the payoff could be very high for those taking the class.

As such, I'd really like to see a class (oriented towards beginners) about learning to program in PHP! I'm sure many others would be interested too.

Where do I find the class? Interested!

I've taken a few web classes so far (HTML, Dreamweaver, starting Intro Flash) and need to learn more. I'm taking the Java class that's just starting. From what I know Java and PHP are different correct?... I saw a few other web classes but none that was specifically PHP. I'd be very interested in a PHP class or any other web classes for that matter.

PHP Class

I will be offering an intro to programming class this Spring semester, in which you could specialize in PHP. The syntax/grammar differences among the higher-level languages like PHP, Perl, Pyhon, Ruby, etc, are trivial in comparison to the universal concepts of programming that you'll learn in the class. If you are a beginning programmer, I'd recommend taking this class, and hope you join! If you are at an intermediate level of programming and have specific desires to work with tools and environments favorable to PHP, I'd recommend taking an intermediate-level web design+programming course, which, if not offered this semester, might be offered the next.
