Front Page Panel Variant: Anonymous Users

Three-column layout. (Please wait for a wireframe before beginning work on this.)

The left column has a large "Learn!" button that links to "/classes" above a node-type view labeled "our classes" of class name + subject area for classes who are published and not of status "closed".

The middle column has the login form along with a "register" button that links to "/user/register". Below this will be a div with a random background image (Seth has code for this), under which will be a short view of user activity.

The right column has a "Volunteer / Teach!" button that links to "/content/facilitate-a-class" above a user-type view labeled "We Make EXCO Possible" of a grid-layout of 74x74 (pixel) scale+cropped user pictures of users who have the "facilitator" role and, if possible, who have created organic group content (class) in the last year.

Let's handle this via a standalone login page as described in http://www.lullabot.com/articles/hacking_phptemplate (Seth has code for this / already implemented on other sites). <-- NOTE: Need to think about how to keep the nav open while still presenting a cleaner view to first-time users. Should also provide "remember me" functionality so this is more oriented towards first-time users. Want to encourage people to join site rather than just browse.
